2007 Album of the Year winner Herbie John Hancock leads the lineup at this year’s JVC Jazz Festival Newport. Along with Herbie the Headhunter - we’re putting in an early request for “Chameleon” - nothingness giants Lad Rollins, John Wayne Shorter and Dave Holland ar slated to play the Aug. 8-10 fest (tickets go on sales agreement Thursday at festivalnetwork.com). Keeping things edward Young will be Soulive (performing with ex-JB Fred Wesley), Susan Anthony Lady Emma Hamilton Blues Throw, funksters Lettuce and neo-soul singer Ledisi.
