A hang for inflammation cancelled cutting edge, experimental wit at a hyper footstep took Dane Cook from small comedy clubs to the head of contemporary standup funniness in the 2000s. Born on March 18, 1972, the Boston native spent his teens poring over the routines of past and represent comics, honing the skills that would finally help him issue the highest-charting clowning album (2005's Revenge) in most 30 eld. In 1998, a reasonably inexperient Cook attended an unfastened mic event hosted by David Cross; he had no intention of taking the stage that night, but when Cross called extinct for "Earnest Glenn" and no one answered, Cook abruptly had a change of mettle and presented himself as Glenn. The short set went extremely well, and thanks to the material Glenn's absence, Cook plant the self-confidence to take his work public.

Cook reinforced his standup skills by learning the art of improv with Al and the Monkeys, a chemical group he has described as existence "like most improv groups, merely funny." His solo move eventually became a local ducky and earned enough electropositive weight-lift to appeal attention from several late-night television producers. Appearances on David Letterman's and Craig Kilborn's late-night shows followed, and in 2000 Comedy Central invited Cook to helm his own episode of Comedy Central Presents. From here, Cook's résumé filled up apace with telecasting appearances on the Tonight Show, Crank Yankers, and Abruptly Susan. He also enjoyed little roles in several movies, as well as a cameo in the medicine television for Smash Mouth's "All Star." By the time Cook released his debut record album, Harmful If Swallowed, in 2003, he had already become a family make among consecrated comedy fans. The album greatly boosted Cook's profile, however, garnering atomic number 78 sales and lofting the comedian to fully fledged fame condition.

2 age later, Cook's sophomore release, Revenge, debuted in the Top Ten of the Billboard cc; the double-disc record album went atomic number 79 captain Hicks years later on and reached platinum condition within six months, making Cook the highest-charting comic since Steve Martin. More movies roles followed, including Employee of the Month, Mr. Brooks, and Good Luck Chuck. After releasing 2 humourous down singles, neither of which saw much chart success, Cook issued his third comedy album, Rough Around the Edges: Live from Madison Square Garden, in fall 2007.
