By this point, the mathematical group had refined its sound, removing the choppy, indie/emo elements in favour of a more disciplined access that emphasized its jazz influence. Unsolved dropped in 2000, followed by the Cancel/Sing EP a class later. The latter featured two prolonged pieces that were the strongest model up to now of Karate's measure, however selfsame humane post-rock. Southern issued Some Boots in 2002, and after some other round of unrecorded dates began lick on a novel, eight-song release.
