Young Rocker Schou Dead
JOHNNY SCHOU, the bassist and guitarist for American rock band TICKLE ME PINK, has been found dead.
The 22-year-old was found unconscious at his home in Fort Collins, Colorado, on Tuesday morning (1Jul08) - the same day the band's debut album Madeline was scheduled to be released.
An autopsy failed to establish a cause of death, and police are awaiting the results of a toxicology test.
Fort Collins police sergeant Jon Holsten says, "A friend of the deceased had found him unconscious and the friend attempted CPR, but the male was pronounced dead at the residence.
"At this point, there is no reason to suspect that foul play is involved."
Chief deputy coroner Diane Fairman adds, "We don't have a cause of death. Everything is pending.
"There is no trauma but we don't know anything else. We just have a lot more testing to do. There was nothing that was obvious."
The album release and publicity appearances have been cancelled.
A statement on the band's MySpace page reads, "Further information regarding the band's plans, and dates that have been previously announced, will be forthcoming in due time."
