Actors' union leaders endorse Hollywood labour contract
LOS ANGELES - Leaders of the second-largest actors' union in Hollywood have approved a new contract with studios.
The three-year deal was approved late Friday by the board of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. The deal now goes to the union's 70,000 members for a ratification vote.
The contract covers a handful of prime-time TV shows, including "Curb Your Enthusiasm."
The Screen Actors Guild, a larger union with 120,000 members, has not reached a contract deal.
Both unions have said they want to avoid a repeat of a strike like the 110-day writers' walkout. That strike ended in February and stalled production.
