Following widespread reports that singer Amy Winehouse [ tickets ] had been diagnosed with emphysema, word has surfaced that her condition is less severe than originally feared."She is not diagnosed with full-blown emphysema, but instead has early signs of what could lead to emphysema," her publicist reportedly told the Associated Press. According to the BBC, Winehouse has already returned to work and is rehearsing for some upcoming performances, but must return to the hospital for further treatment.Last week, Winehouse was hospitalized after fainting at her London home, and underwent numerous tests. UK newspaper the Sunday Mirror reported over the weekend that the singer had been diagnosed with emphysema and could, within one month, end up in a wheelchair and be reliant upon a permanent oxygen mask if she does not stop smoking crack cocaine and cigarettes.
