Death Ambient is the make of an instrumental project of modern improvisers guitar player Fred Frith, bassist Kato Hideki, and business district figure Ikue Mori on barrel machines. The follow-up to their self-titled 1995 debut on John Zorn's Tzadik judge was 1999's Synesthesia, also on Tzadik. After eight-spot long time apart they retuned with guest percussionist Jim Pugliese and their third album, Sottish Forest.
